PLANNING BOARD

FINAL MINUTES OF PUBLIC MEETING

Board members present: Bruce Kullgren, Sr., Rae Barnhisel, Randy Martin, Allan Pickman, Richard Whitcomb and Ex-Officio Ted Petro.

Call to order by B. Kullgren at 7:10 p.m.

Al Patenaude met with the Board with a preliminary plan for a major subdivision of M8 L039 located on General Miller Highway. It was noted that test pits are needed on the proposed lots

and that all lots under 5 acres must comply with state subdivision regulations which includes contours. He will also need a curb cut permit. At this point the plans call for building a Town road to serve the four lots. The option of a PRD was discussed. The Board suggested that Mr. Patenaude discuss the road plan with Road Agent Tim Fiske.

At 7: 37 p.m. Eric Twarog, of Southwest Regional Planning, convened the last workshop for the master plan. He presented a chart with the results of the May workshop – definitions of “quality of life” and “rural” and the master plan goals in the areas of land use, housing and open space & recreation. He then presented the 16 page draft of the Future Land Use chapter. Three groups were formed and they each discussed the following topics for 15 minutes and then reported their thoughts, questions and suggestions for each one: Land use; Housing; Conservation & Preservation; and Traffic & Transportation. There wasn’t enough time to discuss Community Facilities or Economic Environment so the Planning Board asked for written comments to be delivered to the Town Office any time before July 2nd, on these chapters or any of the others.

The Planning Board will meet on July 2nd and review all comments. The workshop ended at 9:40 p.m.

At 9:40 p.m. Acting Chair Randy Martin reconvened the Planning Board for the hearing on the Robbins gravel pit. Bruce Kullgren stepped down to present the renewal application. It was noted that the abutters were notified for the June 4th meeting and newspaper notification was made in time to allow for the 14 day notice. Board members reviewed the gravel pit plans at the June 4th meeting and were satisfied with that review.

MOTION:     A. Pickman moved to renew the Robbins gravel pit permit for two years with the

same conditions as the present permit. Second by T. Petro. Four were in favor and

                   B. Kullgren and R. Barnhisel abstained.

The meeting adjourned at 9:45 p.m.
